Celebrating Sweet 16 and Role as Extra in ABC’s “Ugly Betty”
“I made new friends, and I got to see America Ferrera, who smiled and waved at us. We got excited about that,” says Danielle, an InterFACE Talent Network (http://www.interfacetalent.com) client who recently celebrated her sweet 16.
Danielle was booked as an extra for “Ugly Betty”, the ABC comedy series starring Ferrera.
Danielle first learned about InterFACE, an entertainment marketing company based in South Norwalk, CT, at one of the company’s Connecticut mall kiosks, where a talent scout approached her and asked if she had ever considered modeling or acting.
“At first, I wasn’t sure what InterFACE was, but the talent scout explained the process to me. It sounded fun so I decided to try it,” says Danielle. “I wasn’t sure how people became models or actors. I didn’t think that it would ever happen to me, but I got excited when I found out that I could have a chance.”
Danielle’s initial nervousness disappeared when she met the makeup and hair staff at the InterFACE studios. She says, “The people at InterFACE were easy to talk to, and it was actually really fun. After I started talking to them, I wasn’t nervous at the photoshoot; I loved it so much. I loved getting dressed up and getting my hair and makeup done.”
The staff prepared Danielle by telling her what to bring to the photoshoot. She went through her own wardrobe, selected a few outfits, and let the InterFACE staff choose the best looks. Says Danielle, “Makeup artist Rhonda told me what would look best on camera.”
Working on the set of “Ugly Betty”, Danielle learned new things about television production and had fun at the same time. She says, “I’ve never been behind a set like that. It was cool to see what it looked like and how they made a TV show. I didn’t know how many times they had to go over it before they get it right and how they change the set.”
In the future, Danielle hopes to book a photoshoot for a magazine, and she would love to have a speaking part in a TV show or movie.
“InterFACE is good because they got me a job so fast, and I wasn’t even expecting it,” says Danielle. “I definitely would recommend InterFACE because none of my friends have done anything like it. They think it would be a cool experience. It really works.”
